Goa is home to several temples and our Goa trip isn't complete until we pay a visit to two of them, Shanta Durga and Vijaya Durga located in Ponda, a suburb about 35 km from Panjim city. The route to these temples has always been picturesque with lots of trees on both sides, primararliy cashew trees. Cashew is a orangish reddish fruit that has an external seed (cashew nut). The juice from the cashew is also used to make the local alcoholic drink "Feni".

A typical bunglow style house in Goa...the tiled roof architecture is unique to the Goa-Mangalore belt.

Coconut palm trees and cashew nut trees are abundant in this area
